Yesterday, we drove out to Moriarty to go to the East Mountain SDA Church and watch my mom sing. She did a great job, and we were glad to have visited. Typically, we drive to Mountainair and continue visiting with my parents, but we did not this time.

We went back to Rio Rancho, changed clothes and lounged around for a bit. In the evening, we drove down to the UNM campus to watch the state basketball tournament, where Magdalena played Fort Sumner. Magdalena lost, 45-43. We came back from behind and rallied hard, tying the game and even taking the lead for a bit. Then, in the last six seconds, we had a foul called on us, and they got two free throws. With only six seconds left, we couldn’t score again, and ended up taking the loss.

After that, we went to Range Cafe for dinner and chatting before returning home. I was super tired and went to bed.

Yesterday, I spent the day running around the Albuquerque Metro area. I started out the morning by having breakfast with my parents and JoAnna at the Flying Star, which is always good food and a good time.

After that, I did a little window shopping at a few of my favorite stores.

In the afternoon, I went to the Rio Rancho Star Center to watch the Magdalena Steers play the Clovis Christian Eagles in the State Basketball playoffs. It was a tough match, but the Steers pulled ahead and will play in the state tournament tomorrow.

I had intended to go to the gym, but I’ve lost my headphones. Then, I tried going to the shooting range, but they were running a special event.

I did a few things against an Upwork contract, but didn’t complete anything, just moved the ball forward.

Yesterday, I spent the morning dealing with a few things around the house and preparing to travel to Mountainair. Just about the time I was ready to leave, I received word that the Malibu was finished and ready for pickup. I walked down to the repair shop and picked it up, and then rushed to a gas station (it was empty when I dropped it off and they had to run it and heat it up on several occasions). Once fueled up, I was ready to head to Mountainair, albeit a little later than planned.

In Mountainair, I visited with my parents for the early afternoon. Then, Dad and I went to the Mountainair vs. Magdalena basketball games. Magdalena won all three (JV girls, varsity girls, and varsity boys), but the varsity boys game was a blowout, something like 90-18. One of our players set a school record for number of steals.

In the evening, I visited with Mom and Dad for a bit longer and then drove back to Rio Rancho for the night.

Yesterday, I spent the day at Magdalena tutoring. I got up early and was into Magdalena around 8, and tutored until 4. At 4, I attended the girls’ basketball game. They lost, unfortunately, and I had another appointment and couldn’t stay for the boys’ game.

Besides tutoring, I also finished an article for a client, posted a few applications for more Upwork positions, sent a few follow-up messages from previous contracts and the like.

I’m trying to get in a bit more work to raise some funds for my Crown Vic transmission. Online, I am seeing around $3k to replace it with a remanufactured one, but so far, my local mechanic says $3500 for a used one. I may do this, but I want to check a few more places.

In the evening, I knocked out a few things for the chemical engineering department and hosted a Varsity Tutors session.

Yesterday, I spent the day (miserably) at Magdalena.  I am still pretty sick.  I ended up skipping out early from work and sleeping in my car for a bit to try and recover.

Yesterday was the homecoming basketball game at Magdalena, and I am really bummed that I didn’t get to watch.  We were running a fundraiser, too, and I ended up dumping most of it on my students, but I think they managed alright.

In the evening, I started to feel a little better.  I did a little work towards an Upwork contract, but still called it an early evening, going to bed by 10 or so.

Yesterday, I spent the day in Rio Rancho.  I worked on a few projects around the house and then went to the state basketball tournament at the Santa Ana Star Center.  Magdalena was playing in the playoffs, and unfortunately lost by ten points or so.  It was a good game, however, a good, fair, fun match-up.

In the evening, I worked on a few other projects, including messing with the inverter in my car.  I’m having some strange issues, and I have two inverters that I am switching between.  Both of them only output 94 V or so instead of 115 V, which I expect is probably normal.  However, one of them had stopped working completely in December, but now seems to work fine.  I’ll bring both of them on the storm chase.

Yesterday, I spent the day tutoring in Magdalena, though I did do some computer updates at NMT as well.  I tutored my standard lineup of Thursday classes, plus led the storm chase club meeting.  This week, I covered frontal boundaries and pressure systems.  Also, I distributed the boxes of chocolate for the students to sell as a fundraiser.

After school, I stuck around for the Magdalena and Alamo basketball game.  Magdalena won, but it was a hard match.  At the game, one of the storm chaser kids handed her box of chocolate to her cousin, who proceeded to sell 60 candy bars at the game!

In the evening, I felt miserable.  I went to my brother’s house and crashed without hardly saying anything.  Hopefully, I’ll get feeling better soon.

I’ve been slacking this week, apparently.

On Wednesday, I spent the morning tutoring in Magdalena.  I did my normal Wednesday routine there.

In the afternoon, I taught instrumentation lab.  This week, the students started working with the Stamp II Microcontrollers.  I think they had a good time, and had fun getting LEDs to light.

Yesterday, I spent the entire day in Magdalena.  I tutored all day there, had a storm chase club meeting, then went to the series of basketball games in the evening.

I gave a brief presentation on how to use the Storm Prediction Center’s website for the storm chase club meeting.  I don’t know how much of this information the students are using, but hopefully, they will use some of it on our storm chase in just a few months.

Yesterday, I spent the day working at Magdalena.  I tutored all day, plus led the meteorology club meeting.  In the afternoon, I attended the Pep Rally for their homecoming basketball game.

I am excited about the storm chasing with Magdalena.  I have been preparing a lecture once a week for the storm chasing club. This week, I covered moisture in storm chasing.  I will have to post these lectures somewhere.

In the evening, I attended all of Magdalena’s homecoming basketball games for JV, Varsity and Women’s games.

In the late evening, I had dinner with my brother and his family, then fell asleep on his couch.

Yesterday was a busy day.  I started out by commuting to Socorro, leaving my lunch somewhere.  It may have been stolen on the train, as I did not leave it in my car, and it wasn’t under the seat where I put it, and it was nowhere to be seen.

I went to Magdalena and tutored several hours.  We were going to have a meteorology club meeting, but three of my five students are cheerleaders for the basketball game, and were getting ready for the opening game, which started directly after lunch.  I watched part of the opening basketball game before ducking out to drive to St. Mary’s.

I did robotics tutoring at St. Mary’s, and then decided to drive my truck back to Rio Rancho.  I stopped at Flying Star for dinner, Varsity Tutors and some NaNoWriMo writing.  I am over 46k words, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish this year.
