In February of 2023, I flew to Virginia to attend a friend’s funeral. After the funeral, I drove down to Virginia Beach to visit another friend, and then down to Cape Hatteras, just because I had never been there.
I called my parents from there, as it was their anniversary and they had honeymooned in Cape Hatteras years ago, so that was neat. The lighthouse had moved from its original location since their anniversary.
After a while, I backtracked towards Virginia, stopping at Bodie Island Lighthouse as well.
