We have been in Cocoa Beach for a few days now. So far, I’ve worked a bunch, walked 5 miles with Mike, and swam in the pool a bunch of times. I’ll head out to the beach to swim probably Thursday morning.
I picked up a bunch of new counties, and I’ll likely be able to complete the route (all counties along the path) on the way home. I missed a few in FL, LA, and TX after it got dark each night. Because we are staying in the same places, I’ll start each morning where I ended each night, and pick up the missing ones.
WX Report: partly cloudy.
NWS Forecast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. East southeast wind around 10 mph. There is a Hazardous Weather Outlook: A LONG PERIOD OCEAN SWELL WILL BRING A MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK TO AREA BEACHES TODAY. ALWAYS SWIM WITHIN SIGHT OF A LIFEGUARD AND NEVER SWIM ALONE.

Wednesday, 1-21-09 at 7:38 MST

I had my first perspective and technical drawing class last night. It should be fun, and I’ll make a few line drawings for my thesis, two birds with one stone!

Getting my logs caught up. I am somewhere around Jan. 3 in DX4Win and I just added LA QSOs to my ham contacts page. Many more to come.
I got the oil changed, the car cleaned and vacuumed, the kitchen clean, and a lot of logging done yesterday. Today, I’ll try to get an equipment list for TARA, return a book I borrowed, get a fuel injector program running and send the latest to EMRTC.

On the agenda today: oil change, fix the air conditioner in the car, and clean the car.

Thursday, 1-15-09 at 7:54 MST

My tumbler broke yesterday. There is a threaded alumnium rod that runs through the middle to hold the barrel in place. I guess the washer and nut that hold the barrel in place worked themselves loose so that eventually the whole weight of the barrel was being thrown against this unbolted aluminum rod. The rod didn’t take much of this and snapped in a classic cup and cone failure. I am going to write Hornady, as this was a terrible design.
WX Report: 26.2°F, 40% humidity, sunny.
NWS Forecast: Sunny, with a high near 53. North wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday, 1-14-09 at 8:00 MST
