We had the opportunity to attend a few of the X-Prize events in Las Cruces, NM back in 2006. If you aren’t familiar with X-Prize, it was an event to help promote private space exploration.
Among the outdoor events were rocket launches:
lunar lander tests:
NASA jet tests:
and other miscellaneous outdoor displays:
There were booths set up with other demonstrations, including a Mars Rover, which is currently running over my son:
It was a fun weekend. We did some other travel this weekend, and I’ll write a separate page about those.
