Yesterday, I spent the day working at Magdalena. I drove down first thing in the morning, grabbing all of the things I would need for the next two days. Once I arrived in Magdalena, I tutored who there was to tutor, as a lot of students were out.

In the afternoon, I drove back to NMT and did some work around the department. I also finished out two separate projects. I’m starting to catch up and will hopefully only have one thing to do while I chase storms this upcoming week.

In the evening, I went for a walk around campus. In fact, I set up my laptop and finished yet another Upwork project while sitting outside and enjoying the weather. It had stopped raining in the early afternoon, leaving behind cooler temperatures and pleasant weather. I also hosted a Varsity Tutors session.

Yesterday, I spent the day working in Magdalena. I started out, however, by limping the Crown Vic to a repair shop in Mountainair. From there, Dad drove me down to Socorro. I had the Malibu parked in Socorro, so I jumped into it and took it to Magdalena.

I tutored at Magdalena all day.

In the evening, I drove home to Rio Rancho, did a little grocery shopping and then hosted a Varsity Tutors session.

I’m really not getting done what needs to be done. I have several Upwork contracts to get rolling on, and I have a ton of stuff to do to prepare for the storm chase, and right now, I’m doing none of it. Or at least, not enough of it, not fast enough.

Yesterday, I spent the day working at Magdalena. I drove down to Magdalena in the Crown Vic.

A bunch of students were out for field trips, so we did some catchup work and prep for the next assignments when most of the students had returned from the field trip. In the afternoon, we watched the middle school play (Alice in Wonderland), which was a lot of fun.

In the evening, I went to the annual FFA banquet at Magdalena. I had driven them to an event or two this year, and I advised them off and on when they wanted to practice their recitations. I was awarded a plaque for helping them, which was really nice.

I returned to my office at NMT that evening, and hosted a Varsity Tutors session. I also did a little work around the department before falling asleep in my chair.

Yesterday, I spent the day at Magdalena again. We continued reading and working on their final projects. Several of the students and other teachers gave me cards and gifts as it was teacher appreciation week. I will add the cards to my board that I keep in my office for just such things.

I turned in an Upwork project, but now have two more coming in.

In the evening, I went to the gym and ran. It was not a great run- I did 2.65 miles and then another 0.4. I was really tired during my run.

I have changed up my diet and that may be part of it- I want to stick with it, but it does mean less energy and maybe more sleep. I am trying to only drink one Rockstar a day, as I had crept up to two a day. This week, I dropped back to one, and I can feel it.

Yesterday, I spent the day at Magdalena. NMT is about finished, though I have some grading left to do.

At Magdalena, I tutored all day. We did some reading in most of the classes, as their semester is ending soon, and each class needs to finish the book they are reading.

I did some work against an Upwork project, but didn’t get as far as I would have liked.

In the evening, I hosted a Varsity Tutors session. I was not nearly as productive as I had intended to be, but this school year will end soon, and I’ll get a chance to “reset”.

Yesterday, I drove down to Magdalena and tutored all morning and afternoon. Their semester is winding down, and there were also a bunch of field trips, so I didn’t have many students. In the afternoon, we had our annual “spring fling” where we met with some students and parents about the AVID program.

After Spring Fling had ended, I drove back to NMT and helped the juniors and seniors with their final presentations, which they delivered today. Five of the six groups showed up and got help and did a practice run-through.

I spent the night in my office, as I finished with presentations around 1:30 AM.

Yesterday, I spent the day in Magdalena. I drove the Malibu down, tutored all day, and then took the bus and train back to Albuquerque, where JoAnna picked me up.

Besides tutoring, I spent some time in a meeting for chemical safety on campus, and I also did several Upwork projects. I actually got quite a bit done along my commute. I have officially caught up, and now am approaching a little lull until more work hits my desk.

We went for a nice walk in the evening, and then I did some cooking. I made a sesame ginger chicken stir-fry as an experiment, and I think it turned out alright.

Yesterday, I spent the day tutoring at Magdalena. I started out the day by commuting down on the train and shuttle, and I did a little work against an Upwork contract. Throughout the day, I finished up that task.

At Magdalena, we didn’t have many students. A bunch were on a field trip and a few more were out for a track meet. Some of the remaining students left to set up for prom.

In the evening, I drove to Mountainair to attend the Manzano Mountain Gun Club meeting. I had not attended in a few months. It was good to see my parents and a few of my friends from the club.

When I arrived home, I hosted a Varsity Tutors session, and then we drove out to get the Malibu, which I had left at the train station.

(The original post didn’t publish completely!)

Yesterday, I spent the day at Magdalena tutoring. Their semester is winding down as well and there is a lot of talk about how things will be next year, if we move to a five day school week.

Outside of tutoring, I did some work against Upwork contracts along the train in both directions. Even so, I haven’t had enough sleep over the past week, and I fell asleep on the train for a bit, too.

In the evening, I went to the gym. I wanted to run for an hour, but only made it a little over half an hour. I did some lifting as well.

On the way home, I stopped by Five Guys and then hosted a late night Varsity Tutors session.

Yesterday was my first real day back in a regular routine. I started the day by commuting to Magdalena. Along the way, I knocked out an Upwork project.

At Magdalena, I tutored all day. The kids were all glad I was back, and they expressed it in a dozen ways, one of which was by scolding me for leaving, and the other of which was by showing me all the math problems they had saved up over the past week.

I cancelled the Magdalena storm chase this year. I didn’t want to, but the scheduling was not working out. There were some standardized tests opposite the only window we had. However, we’ll start fundraising for next year.

In the evening, I commuted home. I stopped by the gym and did a little lifting, did some mystery shopping, and then hosted a Varsity Tutors session.
