Yesterday, we traveled from Wichita, KS, back home to Rio Rancho, NM. It was quite a few hours on the road, but not as many as the day before.
We made a few stops along the way. I stopped in Greensburg, KS. Greensburg, KS, was leveled by an EF-5 tornado back in 2007. Ninety percent of the buildings were destroyed and, amazingly, only 10 people were killed. They have rebuilt the town, though many blocks have empty foundations and covered-up basements instead of new houses. What a tragedy that happened there that night!
After that, I tried to catch up with a friend of mine in Hugoton, KS, but she didn’t get my message until after we passed through town.
We thought we would be fighting a winter storm on the way home, but we made it the entire way without any snow. We saw a few flurries as we approached our driveway, but even those didn’t stick, and we have dry ground this morning.
Thank you for reading my post!
